CLUB COACH – U18s and SENIOR ASSISTANT COACH
The Broadford Football Netball Club is excited to announce the return of Jayden Welch as Club Coach – Under 18s Football and Senior Assistant Coach for Season 2026!
Jayden brings a wealth of experience, leadership, and passion for player development — a perfect fit as we focus on strengthening the pathway from junior to senior football and netball.
With an impressive coaching background, Jayden has:
🏉 Coached senior football at Yarra Junction (Outer East FNL)
🏉 Served as Senior Assistant Coach at Melton South (Ballarat FNL)
🏉 Previously coached senior football right here at the BFNC
🏉 Contributed to development within the U18 Coates Talent League
🎓 Completed high-level AFL Coaching Accreditations
As a player, his journey through elite and community football pathways includes:
🔵 Northern Knights (TAC Cup)
⚪️ VFL experience
🔵 Senior football at Mernda, Melton South and Yarra Junction which included a premiership
⚪️ Leadership roles including captaincy at Broadford.
Jayden shared:
“I’m excited to return to the BFNC and take on this opportunity with these young athletes looking to challenge themselves and play their best footy. My main goal is to transfer my knowledge, skills, and experience to the next generation in preparation for stepping up into senior footy and taking their game to the next level.”
Club Coach, Senior Football Nathan Thompson shared:
“I’m very excited that Jayden has accepted the role of U18s Coach, and Senior Assistant Coach at the BFNC.
“When meeting Jayden his experience, leadership, and genuine passion for developing young players stood out strongly to me which aligns perfectly with the direction we’re heading as a club.
