The Broadford Football Netball Club is thrilled to announce the appointment of Nathan Thompson as our new Club Coach – Senior Men’s Football for the 2026 season!
Nathan is a former AFL star, having played over 170 games across Hawthorn and North Melbourne, and is renowned not only for his talent on the field, but for his leadership, resilience, and commitment to community.
This is a landmark moment for the club.
With football returning from recess and a fresh chapter beginning in a new league, there is no better person to lead us into this exciting era than Nathan. His football experience, combined with his passion for developing young talent and creating a strong, inclusive, community-first culture, aligns perfectly with the values of the Broadford Football Netball Club.
Nathan shared, “I’m incredibly excited to be joining Broadford. The opportunity to help rebuild and grow a proud club, surrounded by passionate people, is something really special. I’m looking forward to nurturing the next generation of footballers and building something sustainable and successful — both on and off the field.”
This appointment is more than just about football — it’s about reigniting pride, passion, and potential in our town and club, while honoring the continuous service and commitment of our netballers and those who have remained dedicated to the club during what has been a challenging period.
We invite the entire Broadford and surrounding community to get behind Nathan and our club as we prepare for an exciting new journey. Whether you’re a past player, supporter, volunteer, sponsor, or someone who’s just getting to know us — now is the time to get involved.
Let’s write the next great chapter in the history of the Broadford Football Netball Club — together.
Go Roos! 💙🦘
